Seria imposible hablar de Oaxaca sin mencionar su gastronomia. Mezcal, historia, tradiciones, festivales, zonas arqueologicas, artesania, cultura afro-decendiente, meztisa y sus atracciones turisticas incluyendo sus playas. Se puede decir que Oaxaca lo tiene todo.

Oaxaca se localiza al sur de Mexico y es el quinto estado mas grande de la republica Mexicana. Tierra magica y ancestral que se divide en 8 regiones Valles Centrales, Costa, Sierra Norte, Sierra Sur, Canada, Mixteca, Itsmo y Papaloapan. La diversidad de Oaxaca da vida a la ‘Guelaguetza’ fiesta tipica que se celebra ano con ano.

Oaxaca es considerada la capital del Mezcal por su produccion masiva. Mas del 90% del mezcal del mundo es producido en Oaxaca. Como el tequila, el mezcal esta echo de agave (maguey). En Oaxaca el mezcal representa, tradicion, cultura y fiesta.

La “Guelaguetza” se deriva del vocablo Zapoteca ‘Guendalezaa’ que significa ofrenda, presente o cumplimiento, o Tambien conocido por los locales como “Fiesta de los lunes del Cerro”. Esta celebracion tradicional presenta bailes, danzas y banquetes de todas las regiones.

Oaxaca es considerada la capital gastronomica de Mexico, cabe mecionar que a Ganado el premio “Mejor destino gourmet” en los anos 2018, 2019 y 2022. La comida Oaxaquena es amada por los turistas oaxaquenos tanto como por los extranjeros por sus distintos sabores.

Historia

It is impossible to talk about Oaxaca without mentioning the many things it is world famous for; number one being its cuisine, as well as mezcal, history, traditions, festivals, archaeological zones, handmade crafts, afro-descendant and mestizo culture, and many tourist attractions including it’s beautiful beaches. Lets just say, Oacaxa has it all!

Oaxaca is located in the southwest region of Mexico and is the 5th biggest state in Mexico. It is a magical and ancestral land that is divided in to 8 different regions: Canada, Costa, Itsmo, Mixtec, Papalopan Sierra Sur, Sierra Norte and Valles Centrales. Oaxaca’s diversity is brought to life by ‘La Guelaguetza’, which is a celebration that represents Oaxacan culture year after year.

Oaxaca is known around the world as the capital of Mezcal, for it’s mass production of the spirit. More than 90% of the world’s mezcal production takes place in Oaxaca. Like tequila, Mezcal is made from the agave (maguey) plant. In Oaxaca, mezcal represents tradition, culture, and celebration.

The word “Guelaguetza” comes from the Zapotec language and means ‘an offering, present or fulfillment’. ‘La Guelaguetza’ celebration is also known by locals as “Fiesta de los Lunes del Cerro” (Monday festivities on the Hill). The celebration features traditional costumed dancing from all the regions of Mexico.
